You will need: - Old button - Plain paper - Scissors - Tape - Pencil - Eraser - Markers (or anything else for coloring) - A place to put your personalized button!
Tips: - Gather all materials before beginning - Make sure you have a clean workplace - Make sure to keep your design within your tracing but color your background about half a centimeter out for when you are folding the paper around the button - First cut out way outside the design and align your button to make sure the design fits and that you have colored a bit out of the tracing and then cut out the design for taping - If you're making a small button use 1 piece of tape to tape the edges if it is a bigger one (like mine) use several -- I found this was easier for me, but try it out yourself - Go with the flow when folding the paper around the button -- this is very fidgety. - Be neat when taping over your design to laminate it, if you have a dark background your fingerprints could show up on the tape so don't grab the tape in the middle - Give yourself time -- it took me 20 min. - Try making a button buy using a pretty piece of fabric (you need glue for this -- I used a glue stick and it got messy but it worked you can also use school glue, you don't need anything fancy), newspaper cutouts, photos (trace your button on the back, NEATLY cut it out exactly (no folding over the edge here), glue it (taping looks bad) and VOILA!), tissue paper (and Mod Podge), ribbons, studs, beads, rhinestones, ANYTHING! - BE CREATIVE!
Make a button and show it to me in a video response!
