Garden Stool
When we work in the garden we know our back gets to hurt, we know our knees get to hurt, and it was the same thing four or five hundred years ago when people were making cobblestone streets. And that?s when they invented the Cobblestone Setter?s Stool.

Kneeling Stool
A useful gardening device that?s fun to make by David and Jeanie Stiles. Gardening, especially weeding, requires a lot of bending, stopping and keeling; consequently, anything that makes this task easier will make working in the garden more pleasurable. This is an excellent garden accessory for anyone who has a bad back, since it takes the strain out of kneeling down and standing back up

Lund Stool

A cheap and easy imitation of a three legged stool from Sweden. The seat was made from scrap 2x12 pine; the legs are heavy oak dowel.

Medieval Wooden Stool
Plans for a period stool that folds up. You make this stool from a six foot length of 1? x 10? lumber (actually 3/4? x 9-1/2? when milled for you) of your favorite flavor. The width isn?t terribly critical.

Rustic Step Stool / Foot stool
No house is complete without a good footstool. Kids needing to brush their teeth can?t reach the faucet, and everybody that needs to tie a shoe or reach up to that top shelf in the closet needs a footstool. This is the easiest project to build as a beginner. To last all the years of people standing and sitting on the bench, you need to use healthy wood and make sure all the joints are strong.

Sawing Stool
Because the legs slope both ways, the drawing does not show the true lengths of the legs, nor the actual angles. However the angle difference is small, so errors can be easily fiddled with a bit of canny paring on the leg shoulders.

Seven Foot Oars
These are for the wedding-gift sailboat to the oldest son, so the family consensus is that store-bought oars or my cruder, painted workboat oars won?t do?I?ll have to bite the bullet and finish something in?ugh?brightwork. The yacht-finish masochists among you should be pleased

Shaker Stool
Our step stool is based on an original piece from a Shaker community once located in Hancock, Mass. We chose to build it out of oak, a durable and readily available wood. Pine will also do. It?s easier to work in pine, but if you decide to go that route, buy clear stock and consider moving up from 1-in. material (3/4 in. thick) to 5/4 stock and planing it down to a full inch.

Shop - and The Incredible Versatile Sweep Brace Stool
By Bob Smalser - Here?s an article on how to use a brace with a long ship?s auger, for instance, to bore through a deep keel at a slight angle without the hole breaking through the side. For most of us, the problem is holding the brace and bit true so that our drilling is straight.

Small Stool
Marilyn made a suggestion that we needed a small foot stool in our camper trailer. That got me thinking that it needed to be small and light. As it turns out this stool would be great for a small person sitting next to the campfire or it would look great on the deck with flower pots sitting on it. How every you use it we think it will be a nice addition.
