A Garden Portal
Nice guide on building a garden portal.

A Gate Topper
As the seasons change so does the width of the gate opening, usually the tops of the posts are pushed in as the fence swells in the wet weather. This gate topper will prevent that as well as adding a nice touch to the entrance.

A Rustic Garden Gate
Landscape designer Susan Ballinger comes up with a gate that has the rustic, out-of-the-ordinary look. She uses wood--some of it is recycled--to create the gate and ages the gate to enhance the rustic feel. Includes photos and instructions. Is in standard dimensions (ft and ins).

A Stained-glass Gate
San Francisco homeowner Jennifer Oen wants to add a charming gate to enclose her property, which features a beautiful landscape with a variety of unique features. To implement the project, she enlists the help of landscape designer Cynthia Egger and her father, Jerry Oen, a master carpenter. (no measured drawings)

American Flag Gate
All it takes to create an all-American gate is a little elbow grease, the right tools and supplies, and the appropriate patriotic spirit.

A project for those interested in Heraldry. Whereby one?s arms may be properly and with great ceremony displayed for the pleasure and enjoyment of all

Blocking Gates
This plan is for a blocking gate that will control cattle moving through a working chute such as Plan 1813. The blocking gate is used wherever cattle must be stopped or prevented from backing up. Two designs are shown: a plywood-covered gate running on rollers and inclined sliding-door track, and a plank gate running on greased pipe. Gate and track details can be interchanged

Build a Timber Gate
You have to sign up (free registration at that site) to view this plan. You?ll also need to decide the type of construction you want to use. This helps determine the materials you need. For example, the Mortise and Tenon method uses stiles to hold the gate frame rigid while the Ledged and Braced method relies on the cladding itself to do the job, saving time and materials. Mortise and Tenon is the superior method and, while a bit more difficult to make, will give you many trouble-free years

Build Garden Gates
As with all outside timber structures, gates have to be designed to withstand the elements. It is a relatively common experience to have difficulty trying to open (and shut) some timber gates that are either jammed between the posts, or have sagged and are dragging on the ground. A bit of forethought can alleviate these problems.

Building a Gate
In the best of all possible worlds, every construction project would be done within perfectly square spaces where things line up well. But the fact is that all too often they just don?t- and this is particularly true when building fences, gates, and the like

Copper Panel Gate for your Garden
Not intended for indoor use, this Garden Gate is functional outdoors with an eye-catching panel. The frame is constructed from solid redwood, and is joined with mortise and loose tenons. For design, the top rail and styles are arched. The panel is made from 1/2-inch exterior grade plywood and covered with sheets of copper, attached with epoxy. The copper panel is treated with a cold patina process to give it an aged-mottled-blue-green appearance. The panel is then secured in place with strips of redwood and brass screws. Finally, decorative wrought iron hinges make this door ready for hanging.

Crowding Gate
This leaflet provides details for the construction of a crowding gate that is mounted on a 3.5? x 3600 mm (12?-0?) pipe post

How to Build a Fence Gate
I chose to make my gate a double swing gate because of the added width provided by two doors. It took me one day to build and install the gates. Here are my notes on how the frame was built.
