THIS DESCRIPTION/DISCUSSION IS ALWAYS IN DEVELOPMENT!
In Jesusanity the "Holy" spirit is the loving spirit or intention/action that we may choose to bring to our life situations.
IT IS NOT A GHOST OR SPIRIT that is outside of us, it is the choice to create with positive spiritual energy which is an interior power, period. This power is exercised through each of us and like each of us is a derivative of and metaphor for GOD the creator.
The activation of this spirit happens when we live well in and with the world.
In addition to the ill effects on individuals vis-à-vis their experience of life, the choice to not use this energy has inefficient effects rippling out to family, friends, community, globe, universe. The greater the inefficiency of this spiritual energy natural resource (such as a substantial critical mass of spiritual ignorance)the more tenuous becomes our ability to use the gift of this integral power. It is not unlike the power to walk, because each is a natural innate capability that we can learn and develop. No mystery no ghost.
Jesus, a man who mastered the creation of Holy spirit in his life, taught about the nature and use of this ever-present interior resource. The creation of Holy spirit is a function of loving of self, other, globe, universe, and GOD. All creations potentiated-intentiated-created by the hand of GOD.
Jesusanity is a project of discussion and consciousness raising that seeks to empower the participants to develop awareness about this power and our capacity to use it in a conscious and fairly focused way.
At the literary core of the project are the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Everything else is window dressing in that its' primary purpose is to provide context from ancient Judaism, through Christianity, Islam and more recently (in the west)Buddhism, Agnosticism, Atheism and Humanism. (Pre- and Post-Jesus) Each tradition provides clues to interpreting Jesusanity. Each tradition has not managed to gain the excellent pausity of theology and wealth of practicality that Jesus taught and demonstrated in his own life and universe.
Most importantly Jesus taught that we, his siblings, have the capacity to create Holy spirit and furthermore to create it and through with at least as much efficiency as he managed. This spirit when created and utilized is fundamentally transformative and is a fractile of the loving spirit of GOD.
Jesusanity assumes that the Gospels are the core spiritual documents. It recognizes that the authors were in a process of spiritual development and made some mistakes in terms of the letter of Jesus' Rabbinical vocation.
At the same time the Gospels are assumed to best outline Jesus' life experiences and the MEANING or spirit of his public ministry and teaching. The gospel stories are efficient in length and complexity. They contain MORE than enough information to empower all in the source and use of Holy spirit. The Jesusanity within these gospels is enough to figure out what the Holy spirit is and how to use it. This is particularly true if we don't get bogged down in our other attempts to perceive or conceive of our relationship with GOD. The simple single integral is Loving i.e.: creating and creating with Holy spirit. Jesus' ministry was to teach that this power is natural and is immediately and infinitely available.
Jesusanity seeks to open a continuous dialogue about how to use all of our personal resources through love and therefore with loving efficiency.
